What is Cancer Immunotherapy?

We want to share with you two short creative animated videos that explain how some drugs can help the immune system to fight cancer.

The first one is a video of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Science Illustrated that explains how sometimes the T-cells aren’t able to recognize the bad cancer cells, and they never attack.

By blocking some proteins we are able to help the body to attack cancer. These new agents are called PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors. Learn more about it by watching this video:

In this second video, Dan Chen MD, Ph.D. from Stanford Medical Oncology and Genentech describes what cancer immunotherapy is and how our immune system helps to detect and destroy cancer cells, through PD-L1, PD-1, and B7.1 interactions.
